About Us
Our Mission
To help people Meet, Know, Follow, and Love Jesus
Our Vision
We envision a church where everyone places God above our cultures, life stages, languages, preferences, and
backgrounds to help people to connect with God and each other.
Our Core Values
- The Great Commission: Make Disciples of all nations
- The Great Commandments: Love God and Love People with all we have
- The New Commandment: Love God and Love People Sacrificially
Our Worship
We are an
intergenerational multicultural bilingual church. We believe that
families
worshiping
together
will bring greater blessings to all who are involved. So you will see middle schoolers to seniors come
together to worship our amazing God. Our primary language is English but our sermons are translated into
Mandarin. We also incorporate
small group discussions as a part of our worship so we can apply
what
we hear
right away.
Our Statement of Faith
- Triune God: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- God the Father: There is only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal
Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and
all
other perfections. To Him, we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal God reveals
Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division
of
nature, essence or being.
- God the Son: Jesus is the Son of God and by Him all things were created. Fully human and fully
divine,
Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary. While on Earth, Christ lived a
sinless life, was full of grace and truth, performed good deeds and miracles, and taught the words of
life. He was crucified, died, and rose again. Christ ascended into heaven, now intercedes for us, and
will return to judge the living and the dead.
Our Statement of Faith 2
- God the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, draws people to Christ, indwells
believers, and serves as a deposit of God. He transforms Christians to live a holy life, reveals
the
Word of God, and empowers believers through various gifts for the work of the church.
- Salvation: Those who confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe with their heart
that
God raised him from the dead, shall be saved. Those who do so are born again, having been
regenerated by
the Holy Spirit.
- Resurrection: Both the saved and the lost shall be resurrected; the saved will be resurrected to
life
and the lost resurrected to damnation.
- Spiritual Unity of Believers: The spiritual unity of believers is in the Lord Jesus Christ. It
is a
gift by God and maintained by the believers through a desire to be completely humble and gentle,
patient, bearing with one another in love, and through the bond of peace (Shalom).
Our Statement of Faith 3
- Scripture: God who by his Spirit has graciously disclosed himself in human words: we believe
that
God has inspired the words preserved in the Scriptures, the sixty-six books of the Old and New
Testaments,
which are both record and means of his saving work in the world. These writings alone
constitute the
verbally inspired Word of God, which is utterly authoritative and without error in the
original
writings, complete in its revelation of his will for salvation, sufficient for all that God
requires
us to believe and do, and final in its authority over every domain of knowledge to which it
speaks.
- Church: There is a universal Church of Jesus Christ. All believers are part of that Church.
Christians
are called to regularly assemble together in local expressions of that universal Church for
worship,
fellowship, administering the sacraments, instruction, and engaging in good works.
- Love: The greatest commandment is to love God with all one''s heart, soul, mind, and
strength. The
second greatest commandment is to love one's neighbor as one''s self. We are to imitate
Christ's
selfless sacrificial love towards God and each other.
Our Statement of Faith 4
- Good Works: Christians are created, commanded, equipped, and predestined to perform good
works which
glorify the Father.
- Holiness: Christians are to live lives that are holy, being set apart from this “world”,
because God
is holy and His children are to be holy. Therefore, believers are to repent from their sin,
resist
temptation, and conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with a Christian lifestyle
and
character.
- Marriage: Marriage has been ordained by God and is the exclusive covenantal union between
a man and
a woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. A civil government's sanction of a
union will be
recognized as a legitimate marriage by the Church only to the extent that it is consistent
with the
definition of “marriage” found in these Articles.
- Human Sexuality: Legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence,
sexual
relations outside of marriage (referred to in the New Testament as “porneia”-- πορνεια)
including but
not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia are inconsistent
with the
teachings of the Bible and the Church. Further, lasciviousness, transgender behavior, and
the creation
or distribution or viewing of sexually immoral materials, are incompatible with the biblical
witness.
Our Principles
- Functional Forms: We believe Functions never change but the forms must change as people
change.
- Practical Theology: We believe in teaching the Word in a relevant and practical way that
helps
people
to encounter God every time we teach.
- Simple Excellence: We believe less is more when less is excellent. We keep ministry
simple but we
minister well.
- Innovative Failures: We believe true failure is when we fail to innovate or when we fail
to learn
from
our failures.
- Diverse Unity: We celebrate differences in our united pursuit of loving God and loving
people.
- Loving Honesty: We are transparent with who we are and speak truth with love and grace.
We strive to
build up and not tear down with our authentic pursuit of God.
- Sober Accountability: We believe in sobering and constant examination of our hearts
through the
convictions of the Holy Spirit as well as constructive insights from others. We depend on
the Holy
Spirit to bring true repentance and transformation.
- Godly Acceptance: We love and welcome all sinners who desire not to live in sin but in
Light because
we are sinners indebted to Christ ourselves
Our Principles 2
- Active Communication: We want to hear you and want you to hear us so we can come
together for the
good of His people.
- Costly Joyful Discipleship: We believe following Christ comes at a great cost but the
transformation
of lives through discipleship are overwhelmingly joyful as well.
- Missional Community: We believe God calls us to be a community to journey together and
lead our
communities to God as missionaries.
- Essential Ministers: We believe, by the love of God, He called everyone to be ministers
of His
Gospel and everyone's gift is needed to build up His church.
Excellence: We believe
less is more
when
less is excellent. We keep ministry simple but we minister well.
- Prayerful Humility: We believe that we must seek God first not because we are incapable
but because
God desires us to humbly seek Him. Therefore, we strive to slow down, pray, discern, and
commit all to
follow the steps of the Holy Spirit.
